Wholesale Car Buying Tricks ? Secrets of How to Buy a New Car ...

For many people, the buying of a new car can be a major financial endeavor and often puts a strain on the budget. Because of this, there are very few people who could not benefit from learning the secrets behind wholesale car buying. And for those with a limited income, buying a car at a wholesale price may be the only car ownership option available. But, even the very rich take advantage of purchasing luxury cars and save many thousands of dollars with a little knowledge of the wholesale car buying market.

So where do you go to find some of these opportunities in wholesale car buying?

Government sponsored car auctions can often provide wonderful new and used car deals to people who are hunting for wholesale car buying prices. The government sells these cars from its various departments such as the IRS, the FBI, HUD, etc. These auctions are sometimes open to the public and can provide great opportunities for locating wholesale cars for purchase. All it takes is a little bit of knowledge on where and how to buy a new car cheaply.

There are other types of public auctions which can offer vehicles at wholesale car buying prices. Bankruptcy auctions are on the rise in these days. These auctions can be located through the classified sections of newspapers as well as the Internet. They provide an avenue for many people to find cars at wholesale or below wholesale prices.

Also, wholesale cars can be found at car rental companies which sell their cars at auction. These companies need to upgrade their fleets on a regular basis. In fact, my last car purchase was originally from a car rental fleet ? a practically new car with exceptionally low mileage. I saved nearly $7,000.00 over and above the purchase of a comparable new car. You can check with these types of car rental companies and find out how they dispose of their older vehicles by simply looking them up on the Internet or giving them a call.

Another thing to know for those who want to learn how to buy a car at a great deal is that many vehicle dealers conduct their own auctions providing another resource for wholesale car buying. Sometimes these auctions are limited to licensed dealers themselves and the general public is excluded. However, in some cases the public is indeed invited and these auctions can also provide a great opportunity for an outstanding wholesale car purchase.

Vehicles that have been repossessed by banks and financial institutions are also put up for auction. These types of auctions are often not open to the public. Some are limited to dealers with special licenses. However, with the advent of the Internet, researching for public auctions which provide wholesale cars has become much easier.

With a little bit of knowledge on how to buy a car cheaply, anyone can get a good deal on a wholesale car. Read up on the process and get organized. A considerable savings of many thousands of dollars can be found on new and used cars (even luxury cars) for those who are willing to learn how to buy a car in the wholesale market.

Old-Age Tremors May Be Caused by Brain Lesions (HealthDay)

THURSDAY, Sept. 1 (HealthDay News) -- Microscopic brain lesions that are too small to be detected using brain imaging technology may be the cause of many common age-related problems such as shaking hands, stooped posture and difficulty walking, a new study says.

Researchers examined brain autopsies of 418 nuns and priests, average age 88 at death, who had been followed since 1994 as part of an aging study. There were blockages in tiny blood vessels in the brains of 30 percent of those who had no diagnosed stroke or brain disease. (The study participants had agreed to donate their brains for examination upon their deaths.)

Multiple brain lesions were found in the brains of those who had the most trouble walking prior to their death. Two-thirds of the brains had at least one blood vessel abnormality, which suggests a possible link between blocked blood vessels and common signs of aging, the Rush University Medical Center researchers said.

The study appears in the journal Stroke.

"This is very surprising," lead author Dr. Aron S. Buchman, an associate professor of neurological sciences, said in a Rush news release. "The public health implications are significant because we are not identifying the 30 percent who have undiagnosed small vessel disease that is not picked up by current technology. We need additional tools in order to identify this population."

The researchers noted that Parkinson's disease occurs in only 5 percent of older people, but at least half of people 85 and older have mild symptoms associated with the disease.

"Often the mild motor symptoms are considered an expected part of aging," Buchman said. "We should not accept this as normal aging. We should try to fix it and understand it. If there is an underlying cause, we can intervene and perhaps lessen the impact."

Everyone's Got Advice for Politically-Challenged Mitt Romney (The Atlantic Wire)

Despite a huge fundraising advantage and about a four-year head start in campaigning, Mitt Romney has spent the whole year being outshined by a series of rivals for the Republican presidential nomination. Rick Perry, however, is the first one to beat him in national polls. What's Romney's problem? It could be that he sucks at politics. The sudden rise of Perry has got everyone offering poor old Romney unsolicited advice on how to get better.

How can Romney take Perry down? His campaign reportedly wants to portray Perry as a career politician who's too soft on immigration and too conservative on everything else. But everyone on the Internet thinks that strategy is bad.?US News'?Scott Galupo?writes that Romney can't campaign to Perry's left?and?his right at the same time. And the National Review wrote that the "career pol" charge won't stick either, since Romney's been running for president since 2006.?Conservative writer?Jonathan Last?agrees:

"...Romney would have been a career politician too, if only voters would have let him. He?s been running since 1994. His real gripe about Perry is actually, 'Hey, that guy wins all the time! No fair!'"

Last explains that Romney's real problem is that he's just bad at politics.?His biggest political victories were losing by only 17 points to Ted Kennedy in 1994 after spending $7 million of his own money, and winning the 2002 Massachusetts governor's race -- with just 49.77 percent of the vote. "Even in the biggest win of his life, he couldn't capture more than 50% of the vote," Last writes. And every time he runs, Romney adopts a different persona -- the technocrat, the hard-line conservative. Romney has "no constituency because he's not very good at campaigning and, as the electoral results of the last 17 years have shown, voters don?t like him very much." How can Romney fix that?

House Republican Whip Kevin McCarthy urged Romney to roam amongst the common people. Stay in volunteers' homes, not hotels, he said, plus "His job should be to take out the trash every day, and if that bag breaks, he needs to clean it up." Romney's tried recently to seem more like a regular dude. But the results always seem a bit off. Like when he tweeted a photo of himself eating a Subway sandwich:

Or tweeted that he enjoyed his flight on Southwest Airlines. Southwest! They don't even have first class.

The New Republic's?Jonathan Chait?argues that Last is a bit harsh -- it's pretty hard to be a Republican in Massachusetts. "Romney is a below-average presidential nominee, but that this has been obscured by the competition, which he towers above," Chait writes. And yet now Romney's blurring the one thing that made him better than Perry, Michele Bachmann, and the rest of the Tea Partying field.

Importance of Communication Skills In The Workplace - Ox Articles ...

Although, the expertise of the workers are salient elements for the growth of any company, technical skills are not the main factors that employers think about, but the ability to communicate. This capacity to communicate effectively is more useful than the expertise of the workers simply because communication skills consist of individual attributes that uplift the performance, interactions and career objectives of each and every employee. If your expertise in a specific field gets you to be interviewed, your capacity to communicate effectively will assist you to land the job. Aside from it helps you land the job, the capability to communicate successfully is indispensable in the workplace because of the factors that follow.

First, the capability to communicate successfully can build a healthy working environment. Most of the time, workers within the office use their communication abilities. Whether or not it?s a friendly chat amongst workers during a coffee break or a conference in between the manager and his staff, communication happens all the time. Without the skill to communicate successfully with fellow workers, or with the manager can result to conflict, in which occasionally can lead to the job not being done. Strife in between workers can result to absenteeism and can produce a faction among the workers, therefore their productivity suffers. Apart from that, part of the result of a wholesome working environment is social interaction. Regardless of the assertion of numerous businesses to lessen personal relationships inside the workplace, fondness will flourish between workers if they communicate. As social beings, the workers interact with every other; consequently attachment is formed between them, and cooperation flourishes, making them get the job carried out according to the company?s demands.

Second, communication abilities are effective for internal communication between management and staff. Poor communication is frequently viewed as one of the factors why employees quit jobs or find other employers. While some employers think that monthly compensation will be the most useful aspect to help keep its employees? job satisfaction high, this is not always the case. Communication gap between the employer and the employee can result to stress and job frustration. In short, efficient communication is among the important factors for the workers? satisfaction.

Lastly, communication abilities are important because these abilities are required to insure that customers are satisfied with the goods and services that the business offers. If the employees? competence in communication is poor, they could have difficulty in dealing with customers. If this is the case, the clients will no longer patronize the services of the business, which can result you to lose your job and also the company?s profits.

The ability to communicate successfully within the workplace is indeed vital for good results of the business and the employers? job satisfaction. With out these, the business can lose its profits and the workers lose their jobs. Both employers and employees ought to have the competence to communicate successfully in order that the company will succeed.

Relationships, Dating, & Marriage ? Blog Archive ? Can Long ...

When I was out in the cold on the dating cycle a few years ago, my only thoughts were connecting with women in my local area. Well, at least within a few hours drive from where I lived.

Can Long Distance Relationships Work For You?I had the thought that long distance relationships were going to be a challenge. In my head, some of those areas were going to include the simple matter of talking, touching and seeing that special person. And indeed, a few interesting ladies did happen by that lived in other cities and towns in Australia. I quickly dispatched the contact without much conscious thought.

The Next Thing Was Amazing

What happened next was pretty damn amazing and I?ve spoken on various areas in the past. My wife, Pam, happened! And she?s amazing!

The first connection actually ocurred via Facebook and was reasonably innocent. That was probably the first difference. Just a single ?out of the blue? Facebook question about a group I was in. Which I helped answer the best I could. Then another question which prompted me to pay a bit more attention to this new person.

Wow, she?s gorgeous, was my first and recurring thoughts. At this point, I also noticed Pam lived in Cape Town, South Africa ? now that?s a long distance plane flight. Be that as it may, this is just an innocent typed message for some assistance. I think the difference here was I was just rolling with the punches, going with the flow to see where things went. At the very least, Pam would be a great pen-pal and a very interesting person to chat to.

Well, that didn?t last long. Within days, we were messaging each other on Facebook every few hours and the frequency started picking up as well.

It Really Is A Mental Thing

When you?re in a space of thinking of where that other person physically is, that?s your first mental block.?

You?ll likely see an insurmountable wall of distance between you and your potential soulmate. ?Would it be easier to find someone else??. That basically depends on whether you think it?s worthwhile in discovering new potential, a different and interesting culture, expand your thinking as well as moving outside your comfort zone.

The Long Distance Easy Bits

Without question, communication in this Internet Age is simple and easy. Even using a dialup modem can get high quality voice calls using things like Skype or MSN Messenger. If you?ve got broadband availability, then your faraway romance just got better.

Video Skype is just like being there, without the touching. You can talk for hours at zero cost ? and believe me, Pam and I did just that.

What Are Some Long Distance Challenges?

Well, the big one for me was physical touch. The absense of a real hug or holding someone?s hand really was quite foreign for me. Again, getting past this point is certainly another one of those mental processes.

There?s other physical challenges obviously and you can certainly get around those with some imagination. Something new to try.

And There?s Some Interesting Gifts

Interestingly enough, one of the gifts is also the biggest challenge. Without the complication of physical contact, getting to know the other person takes on a whole new meaning. You?ll find conversation becomes a thirst. A deeper understanding of the other person stakes place much faster than a local romance. I found the whole situation really amazing as well as unusual.

How do you make long distance relationships work? Ever had one that worked or didn?t work ? do please let us all know your experience/s in the comments below.

How to Grow Herb Garden Flowers - The Home of Garden Creations

Quite often, herbs are used for cooking, house cleaning, or to heal certain ailments. These traditional uses for these plants have been around for years. Most of the knowledge of these plants and growing them are rooted in these uses. In fact, ancient herb gardeners were not only doctors, but they were also the best cooks.

A new and upcoming use for herbs is for decorative purposes. To grow plants for the sake of their flowers is quite common among flower gardeners. However, it is starting to become popular among those who grow herbs as well. This is because herb flowers come in many different colors, fragrances, and can be really delicate or pretty to look at, which is something many flower gardeners like.

To grow herb flowers, not only brings beauty to your garden, but it makes your garden quite useful as well! Some herb flowers can make teas, remedies, or lovely potpourris or natural air fresheners. Decorative purposes around the home are also one way to use your herb flowers, filling your house with delicate bouquets that many people are sure to admire!

Growing herb flowers is not at all difficult. The first step to growing herb garden flowers is to look for which plants produce the type of flowers you would like to have. Next, look at how tall the plants will get. These two factors will help you decide where in your garden to place them. This is especially important for plants grown for decorative purposes.

Next, simply grow the plants! Just grow whatever herb it is you want the flower of. Most plants will eventually flower because all plants have the goal to create seeds in order to propagate. The seeds of herb plants are all in flowers. To grow herb flowers also means that you will have seeds for your next crop constantly on hand.

Like all plants, your herb flowers will need sunlight and water. Other than that, it will require weeding, pruning, and possible replanting if the plants get too big. Your plants will require the exact same amount of attention all your other plants or herbs will need. Actually, it may need less since herbs tend to be no fuss plants.

While the herb has not flowered, you can use the leaves in your cooking (assuming that it is the leaves you need from that particular plant). Once the flowers bud and bloom, however, the leaves will lose its flavor because the plant is concentrating on its blossoming flowers. If you want to grow herb garden plants for flowers, and for herbs as well, it's best to grow two plants (one for each purpose) so you can have the best of both worlds!

Rare allergy led to PTSD

Rare allergy led to PTSD

Published: September 1, 2011

In 1981, a doctor prescribed Michele Rosenthal antibiotics for a bladder infection. What happened immediately following defies description.

"Then all hell broke loose," said 43-year-old Rosenthal of Palm Beach Gardens in a telephone interview. Her body had an allergic reaction to the antibiotics. "The easiest way to describe it is I became like a burn patient over my entire body. I was covered with blisters up to eight inches long and they joined with the blisters next to them." What she had was toxic epidermal necrolysis, a rare, extremely painful, life-threatening skin condition involving the complete separation of the top and lower layers of her skin.

While in the hospital, she had an out-of-body experience and was convinced she would die. Because her condition was so rare, doctors seemed clueless how to help, she said. After physically recovering, she started experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder symptoms, including hypervigilance, insomnia, nightmares and avoidance.

"For example, I refused to discuss with anyone what had happened," she said. "I also had an enormous fear of seeing the doctor. If anything happened with my body, I'd go into extreme panic, sometimes over the simplest things. I felt terror that something was wrong with my body that couldn't be fixed."

Because her body terrified her, she tried mentally taking control over it. That effort led to her having a dangerous eating disorder, anorexia nervosa. A National Institute of Mental Health website defines anorexia nervosa, in part, as a "relentless pursuit of thinness," an unwillingness to maintain a healthy weight, a distortion of body image, and an intense fear of gaining weight. By age 35, due to anorexia nervosa, she had developed advanced osteoporosis.

Then in 2005, a breakthrough: a counselor diagnosed post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) resulting from her toxic epidermal necrolysis experience. Immediately, she cut back work hours to accelerate therapy. She went through cognitive behavioral therapy, information processing therapies, hypnosis and neurolinguistic programming.

After finishing her recovery three years later, she began blogging about PTSD, started a PTSD-related website and radio show, and became a certified professional coach, hypnotist and neurolinguistic programmer. All along, she said, she never once worked with a counselor on resolving anorexia nervosa; it ended on its own after she beat PTSD.

She advises people with PTSD to find a trauma-trained professional who believes getting over the disorder is possible.

Organizing Children's Craft Supplies: The Ultimate Guide

source: freakgirl

source: freakgirl

If your craft supplies could you an overhaul, then this ultimate guide is for you!

Craft supplies include can be hard to organize, especially when you?re constantly in and out of the boxes searching for specific supplies. But it is possible to get organized ? and stay that way ? with these strategies:

Before you begin the process of organizing your children?s craft supplies, it?s a good idea ? like with every area we organize ? to begin by asking yourself some questions about the age and maturity of your children, the role you want crafts to play in your family and the space you have available for them.

Considering Your Children

  • How old are your children?
  • Can you put the craft supplies at their level, or is that a disaster waiting to happen?
  • Do you want them to be able to get the craft supplies on their own, or only when you help them?

There are no right answers to these questions across the board, but there may be right answers for your family. We went through the whole ?cutting hair? stage with our oldest, and you couldn?t have paid me during that time to leave scissors anywhere she might have been able to access them. Now I find that keeping some of their basic supplies where they can get to them on their own encourages more arts and crafts, which is important to me. My kids are still pretty young, though, so I don?t give them free access to everything, just the things that I think they?re old enough to handle.

Crafts in Your Family

  • What role do crafts play in your family?
  • Do you place a lot of value on arts and creativity and want your children to spend time every day coloring, drawing and creating?
  • Are crafts something you only do every once in a while?
  • How many craft supplies do you have?
  • Are you happy with the amount of time you spend on arts and crafts, or is the storage and location of them a hindrace to doing it more often?

Obviously your craft ?philosophy? should have an impact on how you store arts and crafts. If crafts aren?t a high priority or something you want to do often with your children, then a basket, bucket or bin shoved up on a shelf somewhere may be enough. If crafts are something you want to encourage regularly, then you?ll need to make them easier to get to, so that the struggle of getting everything out doesn?t prevent you from doing more crafts.

Space in Your Home

  • Where do you do crafts the most often? In your kitchen? In a playroom? Outside?
  • Is there a storage space ? for example, an armoire, a closet, a shelf, a drawer or a cabinet ? near your craft area that you could use for storing crafts?

As I said before, having the space to store your crafts conveniently will often make a big difference in your willingness to drag everything out for your children. Making more room for crafts ? if they?re important to you ? is a good way to encourage their use. If this is currently a problem, start brainstorming now about what areas you could shift around to make more space for arts and craft supplies, keeping in mind whether you want those to be within your children?s reach or not.

Getting Organized

Okay, now that you?ve asked yourself some questions about what role crafts play in your family and where you?d like to keep them let?s look at a plan to actually get organized.

1. Lay out all of your children?s craft supplies. I know this is always the hardest step of getting organized, but I really believe it?s the secret to getting organized By laying things out, you?ll be able to see everything at once and organize it as you pack it away, so that you can group things together rather than having them scattered throughout the craft area. Of course, if you have little kids, laying out all of your craft supplies at once with them around is a recipe for disaster when they?re around, and you?ll also need to be committed to packing it all away or dealing with the additional clutter until you get it done.

2. Throw away any craft supplies that have outlived their usefulness. This includes old glue that?s hardened, broken crayons (unless you?re really going to make these adorable melted crayons), sticker sheets that are mangled and almost empty, coloring books with hardly a blank page left in them. Sorting through and decluttering your craft supplies gives you a fresh start as you begin to organize. You?ll need less space and everything will be neater and easier to straighten.

One caution: Be prepared for much wailing and gnashing of teeth if your children see their craft supplies in the trash. In my experience, it doesn?t matter how trashed the supplies are or how many beautiful supplies they still have ? or that they won?t even notice if they don?t see it in the trash can ? they?ll decide THAT was their favorite craft supply that they can?t possibly live without!

3. Group the crafts in a way that makes sense logically and also makes them easiest to get to. If you?re using baby wipe containers, you may put markers in one, paints in another and crayons in a third. If you?re using a larger shoe box or plastic storage bin, you may find that combining similar supplies to fill each box is a better way to do it.

4. Use smaller containers to hold small craft supplies together. Keeping small supplies contained is an important part of cutting down on the mess and chaos of disorganized craft supplies. Although there is no doubt that sorting and packing these things can be the most time consuming part of the process, having buttons or pompoms or foam pieces contained rather than just thrown in a box will definitely make it feel more organized and make the supplies easier to get to and use.

5. Pack and label your boxes! It?s okay if you don?t have a label maker, just grab some tape, write a label and stick it to the box. Once your boxes are labeled, anyone who needs access to them will be able to easily find the craft supplies.

Craft Boxes

One of the ways that we keep our craft supplies organized is by creating smaller craft boxes or bins for every day use rather than letting the girls dig through the big boxes of supplies. I love this method for many reasons:

  • I can get basic supplies ready ahead of time so that the girls can grab them quickly and easily when they want to do craft.
  • Although my craft storage is organized by type, these boxes or bins contain a variety of supplies so the girls can choose whichever appeals to them on a given day.
  • We?ve cut down on the girls rummaging through bins and cabinets to get more supplies.
  • They?re easy to clean up, and the girls can do it themselves.
  • I can give the girls a smaller quantity of certain supplies rather than have them use all 120 pipe cleaners at one time!

So how do you decide what to keep in your art boxes? You can probably guess what my answer is to that question?it depends on your kids, your family, your home and your rules!

But here?s a basic list of what we include for younger kids:

  • Scissors
  • Crayons
  • Paint dots
  • A small velvet art picture and markers
  • Construction paper
  • Glue sticks
  • Pipe cleaners
  • Stickers

You could, of course, add whatever you want to the boxes, based on your kids? interests, how much you want to supervise, what you have on hand, etc.

How I Do It

I first took this picture of our ?craft wall? a couple years ago, but it looks almost the exact same today, except the wall is now green and there?s a wooden shelving unit built around the washer & dryer and opposite wall.

All of our stuff came from Ikea (of course!). We use the glass board for our shopping list throughout the week, notes, doodles, etc. From the bar above the board, we hang 6 plastic cups with a variety of markers, colored pencils, crayons, etc. We use the metal file holder on the far side to hold coloring books, notebooks, etc.

In addition, I have five plastic boxes upstairs in our toy/homeschool/craft cabinet that include our stash of project supplies. Those are divided by category and include:

  • Paints and Glue
  • Paper and Stickers
  • Embellishments (foam shapes, pipe cleaners, googly eyes, popsicle sticks, etc.)
  • Play-Doh and Moon Sand
  • Bubbles and Chalk

How Much is Too Much?

One of the things we struggle with is how quickly we go from a good variety of craft supplies to way too much! For a while, I was offering grandparents the idea of craft supplies for birthdays and Christmas, since they?re consumable and our girls spend so much time crafting. But really, even that got out of hand, and we soon had way too much.

To reduce the amount of craft supplies we have, we try to resist the urge to ?get it in every color?, sticking with just what we need instead. We also share with others, plan multiple projects around the supplies we have or buy and ? when all else fails ? give the extras away to another family to use!

A friend of mine is considering an Art in the Park day, where we can all bring our extras to share and just spend a day creating. I love that idea as a playdate for using up things that might otherwise just sit and go to waste.

Another idea is to use repurposed materials ? egg cartons, toilet paper rolls, shipping paper, etc. ? or homemade paint, glue, etc. rather than purchasing new supplies all of the time. Repurposing is a great way to stretch your creativity, save money and avoid waste.

And Then What?

One of the biggest challenges of arts & crafts ? especially with our second daughter, who would create all day every day if we let her ? is figuring out what to do with all of the artwork once it?s done. I hate to throw anything away, but we would be storing boxes and boxes of stuff if we kept it all.

Here are a few of my ideas for reducing the clutter while still honoring your kids hardwork and creativity:

  • Display artwork for a limited time when it?s ?fresh?. Stick it to your fridge, use a special bulletin board to display the latest projects, look for artwork frames that allow you to easily change the pictures or hang them with clothespins on a string hung across the wall.
  • Give each child a special keepsake box for storing their most special artwork and crafts. Decide together what goes in the box, and remind them that they may have to make some hard choices if the box gets full.
  • Take pictures or scan any pieces that you won?t be keeping so that you?ll always be able to go back and see them.
  • Mail artwork to a relative or friend with a special note.
  • Use their drawings and paintings as wrapping paper or cards throughout the year.

I am sure I will look back on this stage and miss the time they spend at the kitchen bar coloring, drawing and making collages, so I look for ways to contain the chaos without squelching their creativity as much as possible!

Turkey agrees to host early warning radar (AP)

ANKARA, Turkey ? Turkey has agreed to host an early warning radar as part of NATO's missile defense system aimed at countering ballistic missile threats from neighboring Iran, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said Friday.

A ministry statement emailed to journalists said discussions on NATO-member Turkey's contribution to the alliance missile defense shield had reached "their final stages."

It did not say when or where the U.S. early warning radar would be stationed.

In Washington, Pentagon spokesman Col. Dave Lapan said the United States hopes to have the radar deployed there by the end of the year. But he said it has to go through some additional approvals in the U.S. and Turkey.

NATO members agreed to an anti-missile system over Europe to protect against Iranian ballistic missiles at a summit in Lisbon, Portugal, last year. A compromise was reached with Turkey, which has cultivated close ties with its neighbor Iran and had threatened to block the deal if Iran is explicitly named as a threat.

Under the NATO plans, a limited system of U.S. anti-missile interceptors and radars already planned for Europe ? to include interceptors in Romania and Poland as well as the radar in Turkey ? would be linked to expanded European-owned missile defenses. That would create a broad system that protects every NATO country against medium-range missile attack.

Turkey has built close economic ties with Iran and has been at odds with the United States on its stance toward Iran's nuclear program, arguing for a diplomatic solution to the standoff instead of sanctions.

But the agreement over hosting the radar comes at a time when Turkey and Iran appear to be differing on their approach toward Syria, with Turkey becoming increasingly critical of Iranian ally Syria's brutal suppression of anti-regime protests.

The ministry statement made no mention of Iran. It said the system would strengthen both NATO and Turkey's own defense capacities.

Russia opposes the planned system, which it worries could threaten its own nuclear missiles or undermine their deterrence capability.

Russia agreed to consider a NATO proposal last year to cooperate on the missile shield, but insisted the system be run jointly. NATO rejected that demand and no compromise has been found yet.
